Notes

NEW FOR 2024-2025 – Small Animal Consignments will be completed online prior to the March membership meeting. Small animal packets will need picked up & signed for at the conclusion of the March or April meeting. March & April meetings will be educational events focused on animal selection, daily care & feeding. Additional information for online consignments will be forthcoming.

  • *** – this function does not count as one of the five (5) required meetings / events, however all exhibitors of that species must attend in order to sell their animal.
  • All Junior Members with market steer, hog, lamb, or goat projects must attend at least five (5) meetings and/or events prior to the PCLA Show and Sale and sign the attendance sheet. Events held on the same day only count for 1 event attendance. If you attend an event for attendance, you must be present from the beginning to the conclusion to get credit and you must sign the sign-out sheet at the conclusion of event.
  • All Market Steer exhibitors are encouraged to attend the Market Beef Clinic on May 10, 2025 and exhibitors must show at the Preview Show on April 26, 2025 OR show at the PCLA Sponsored Jackpot Show, July 11-13, 2025, participating in both the market show & showmanship for the event to satisfy the market steer rule requirements. and required to show at either the Preview Show or the Jackpot Show
  • All Market Hog, Lamb, and Goat exhibitors are encouraged to attend their species specific clinic on June 28, 2025 and exhibitors must show at the Preview Show on June 7, 2025 OR show at the PCLA Sponsored Jackpot Show, July 11-13, 2025, participating in both the market show & showmanship for the event to satisfy the market hog, lamb & goat rule requirements.
  • Thank you letters are due at the regular meeting, October 9, 2025! For anyone who does not turn them in on this day, exhibitor checks will be distributed December 31, 2025.
  • PCLA is continuing the merit system where junior members will be challenged and given points throughout the year for attending and volunteering for events. Plan to attend and plan for success in growing agriculture in Preston County!
  • PCLA encourages members to participate in all scheduled events.
